What a team compatibility score actually represents

A team compatibility score answers: "Given everything we know about Person A and Person B, how well will they collaborate across communication, conflict, decision-making, values, and emotional rhythm?"

The EQIQs engine produces this number across 23 dimensions drawn from 21 psychometric frameworks, weighted by the relationship context (Business, Romantic, Friendship, Co-parenting).

Why this predicts retention

Gallup, BambooHR, and SHRM research all point to the same root cause for voluntary turnover in the first 12 months: manager–employee compatibility, not compensation. A 70%+ pair fit at hire correlates with measurably lower 12-month attrition in pilot data. A <55% pair fit at hire shows up as a clash within 90 days in over half of cases.

How to read a score

• 85–100 — high alignment. Trust forms fast, conflict resolves quickly.
• 70–84 — strong fit with one or two coachable gaps.
• 55–69 — workable but needs explicit operating norms.
• <55 — high clash risk. Either skip the hire, change the reporting line, or build a coaching plan up front.

The data sufficiency rule

EQIQs requires a minimum of 3 completed frameworks per profile before producing a score. Below that, it returns a low-confidence flag and prompts for more data instead of producing a misleading number.
